Cat’s Life
Claire Moore
Let’s read together: Cat’s Life by Claire Moore
Timothy Tabby tastes in his dream
Many a brimming saucer of cream;
Then spruces his whiskers, slocks his fur,
And still half-sleeping, purrs a soft purr.
Outside the wind is lashing the trees,
But Timothy Tabby, asleep and at ease,
Dreams of fresh herrings and rabbits and mice
All the odd things that a cat finds nice.
He stretches his paws and he opens his eyes
And seeing no cream there, Timothy sighs,
Then curled by the fireside, all snuggly and round,
Timothy slumbers, without a sound.
